The mission of Holy Names University Upward Bound is to engender in its participants the skills, motivation, and vision necessary to complete a program of secondary education and to graduate from a post-secondary institution.
The Upward Bound Project is an academic outreach program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
Our History
We serve 60 youth between the ninth and twelfth grades enrolled at Oakland High School. Students accepted into the program receive project services free of charge. In return, students have to make a commitment to both their academic education and to the Upward Bound Project.
Over the past ten years, we have successfully matriculated over 95% of our graduating seniors into colleges or universities of their choice.
