Criteria for Eligibility
     In order for students to participate in the Holy Names University Upward Bound Project, they must meet our entry criteria.
  1. Must be in the 9th Grade.
  2. Must meet the annual income levels below.

  3. Federal TRIO Programs 2007 Annual Low Income Levels

    For family units with more than eight members, add the following amount for each additional family member: $5,220 for the 48 contiguous states, the District of Columbia and outlying jurisdictions; $6,525 for Alaska; and $6,000 for Hawaii. The term "low-income individual" means an individual whose family's taxable income for the preceding year did not exceed 150 percent of the poverty level amount.

  4. Parents must have not earned a bachelor's degree or higher in college.
  5. Must demonstrate academic potential (not necessarily high grades).
  6. Must attend Oakland High School.
  7. Must demonstrate academic need based on test scores.
